| In GT-FUEL there are several ways to model a given component's performance. We can either impose a component's performance directly or we can calculate the performance from a set of governing equations. For an example of imposing versus calculating a component's performance consider the following. We can model a positive displacement pump as a constant flow source or we can input the pump performance from a set of pump curves (both impose performance), or we can calculate the performance by having the code numerically integrate the governing equations (e.g. fluid equations and equations of motion of mass). Note that the input data needed in a given model depends on how a component's performance is being modeled. It is recommended that the user read the description of each object and attribute from the GT-FUEL Reference Manual or the online help while entering the data for that object.
